FEEL, THINK, And LEARN.

What Can we do with English?

To think of answers for this question is our purpose to establish this Terakoya (Community Academy of a Japanese style..).

And we also want kids in the community to think these questions, meanwhile...

Why do we have to study English?

What do you want to do with English?

Our answers for them have been:

Because it has been fun, and we want to communicate with many people in the world.

What are your answers?

There should be as many answers for them as the number of kids or people...And we want to help kids to find them out by getting them to know what we can do with English and also how fun it is to learn another language.

Then, what is ENGLISH?

You know, how hard it may seem to learn it, English is just a language through which people communicate...

I think many of Japanese sometimes forget that it is just a language with which people communicate. English is just a language which makes people connected to others as Japanese does for us.

What do you do with our languages, Japanese or others?

We talk, read, hear, and write... communicate with others.

How did we learn our native tougues?

We have learned them through hearing, talking, reading, and writing. That is what we have to learn when we study another language...

SO, how do we try to practice it in this Academy???

We use the textbooks kids use in school, because they are available to them easily and people usually are lazy if there is not encouragement of learning such as tests and grades...

Also, we use daily materials, such as newspapers, TV, movies, radio, or music... And games, too.

Besides, we try to give them chances to meet and talk with local people (older and younger) as well as friends invited from other countries.

Therefore, Our academy is very willing to accept the ideas, opinions, thoughts on kids, society, education in the world as well as Japan.
